Chocolate for Charity Gourmet Confections

This year our Chocolate for Charity is very personal. We have a special story about our 19 year old cousin/nephew who was paralyzed from the waist down in a bike accident.

Normally our Chocolate for Charity donates 10 % of the proceeds from Chocolate for Charity sales to animal shelters. However we have a very special and personal cause - For the next few months a portion of the proceeds from our Chocolate for Charity will be donated to our 19 year old cousin/nephew Garrett Goodwin - someone you should know.

In July 2011 Garrett's life changed when a bike accident broke his spine leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. From day 1, Garrett has had courage, motivation and determination to be strong and adjust to his new life. His focus has been “It’s not what happened to you….it’s what you do with it” (W. Mitchell). The attitude and drive he has shown has been our strength. His body is still healing from the accident, and he is looking at what he can do rather than what he can’t do. His dream is to be independent and eventually drive, go back to engineering at college, enjoy sports, and yes….walk. Modifications to his home and equipment needs are very costly. Please help us donate to Garrett’s cause!
